Boy Gets Prosthetic Hand Made by 3-D Printer

Back when I used to work at the San Diego Supercomputer Center in 2001, I’ve seen 3D printers in action. Back then, they didn’t make things out of plastic or metal, they made things out of layers of fine powder. Since then, 3D printers have come a long, LONG way! They can make things out of rigid plastic and metal good enough to make working machinery out of them. But what’s really amazing is that people are now releasing models for things that can be made on 3D printers for free so that people can make some pretty amazing do-it-yourself things from home. Here’s the best example I’ve seen yet!
